L1fe Baptist Church or Iglesia V1da Bautista is a church plant by missionaries Tony and Heather Williams located in Iztapalapa, Mexico City. Our church, Bunn Baptist, is partnering with V1da Baptist and is sending a short-term mission team to Mexico City 13-20 July 2010. The team will assist in Vacation Bible School, participate in servant evangelism outreach and work on putting in a outdoor patio area for use in special events at the church. V1da is one year old and has approximately 25 people in attendance each Sunday.
Heather and Tony have made a deliberate effort to reach out and serve their community. This idea of serving started as a thought after being greatly affected by a concept called servant evangelism presented in Outflow: Outward-Focused Living in a Self-Absorbed World by Steve Sjogren. The goal is simple: to show people God’s love in simple, practical ways. It is the most basic type of evangelism, often called pre-evangelism. During the year of our church’s existence, they have done a variety of projects: given away food, gum, water, matches and washed windshields – all in the Name of Jesus.

It is only when we leave the confines of our church buildings that God can use us to serve others. We challenge you to get out there and engage the world around you.
